The main items of Work of this Contract include the following: Abatement of all hazardous material included in the Hazardous Materials Survey which include but not limited to: Asbestos (Pipe insulations) PCB’s (Fluorescent tube lighting) Lead (Lead Paint) Mercury (Fluorescent tube lighting and thermostats) Fecal and Microbial (Deceased birds and feces) Mould
Selective Demolition of the back porch/vestibule as noted on the Issued for Information Only drawings. Demolition includes the removal the back porch vestibule and all its components. Protection of the remaining building from damage is required. After removal of the back porch/vestibule, all penetrations on the back of the building must be enclosed with a watertight seal and finished to match the existing façade.
Testing Requirement. Third party testing (paid for by owner) will be mandatory while removing asbestos. Contractor to provide minimum of one week of notice for monitoring is required for monitoring. Third party testing (paid for by owner) is required to confirm adequate abatement of all hazardous materials. Contractor to provide minimum of one week of notice for monitoring is required for clearance testing.
If hazardous materials abatement is deemed insufficient by third party consultant, subsequent testing will be required at the expense of the Contractor. Any additional testing costs will be pre-determined by the third party consultant. Third party consultant (paid for by owner) will a final report confirming clearance of all hazardous materials in the building.
Building Security To prevent further water damage/pest infestation to the building, Contractor is to provide a watertight seal on all openings. This includes but is not limited to all windows, doors, skylights, roof penetrations. Panels that cover penetrations to be painted to match existing panels and provide watertight seals. |
