The Town’s Water Treatment Plant supplies potable water to the Town of Three Hills, the Town of Trochu, and Kneehill County. Treated water is conveyed through an approximately 20‑km transmission line to the Town’s clear water reservoir. The existing high‑pressure discharge piping system has reached the end of its service life and requires replacement. Shutdowns of the discharge pumping system must be strictly minimized due to limited clear water reservoir storage capacity and the essential nature of this regional infrastructure. The selected contractor will be required to maintain continuous discharge flow throughout construction using an approved temporary bypass arrangement.
The anticipated scope includes replacement of interior process piping, exterior underground piping, associated valves and appurtenances, line tapping, temporary bypass piping, demolition activities, structural repairs, concrete pipe supports and thrust blocks, electrical modifications, installation of new instrumentation, and integration with the existing PLC system.
